Susan Bell is a licensed Marital and Family Art Therapist trained to work with individuals, couples and families. She specializes in children and teens with behavioral. social problems. Susan maintains a private practice in San Diego, California.
She has over 20 years experience in the behavioral health field. She is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles. In addition to Marital, family, child she specializes in Play and Art Therapy. She is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are trauma based issues, behavior management and developing coping skills using cognitive and behavioral strategies to address life patterns that contribute to feelings of frustration and low self esteem. Susan specializes in work with highly conflicted relationships, PTSD, teaching effective coping skills and multi diagnosis individuals.
In addition to being a relationship therapist, Susan has presented at local conferences and general audiences speaking on the topics of the use of Art Therapy, working with PTSD and grief in children and families. In addition, Susan has been a participant in team research on the effects of long term therapy for traumatized children. Susan currently works with families to assist in the Individualized Education Plan development to promote school success.
